To further enhance wildlife habitat in this area, Katy Prairie Conservancy (KPC) in Harris, Ft Bend, and Waller counties owns approximately 13,500 acres and has secured additional acreage through private conservation agreements. This prairie the Honestly Texas farmer calls home offers essential benefits to the region, including removing sediment and pollutants from nearby wetlands and water bodies and sequestering carbon (www.katyprairie.org).
